LIFESTYLE // Hey, it’s okay (at Christmas...)

Saturday 20 December 2014

Hello there!
I have decided that I like to write lists and where better to start than with a Christmas list? I hope you enjoy!

1. If you walk around your living room multiple times, picking up just one chocolate each time. If you’re walking around you’re burning it off right?

2. If you walk around your living room in circles because you know Darcy once said the female body looks it's best when standing (and you know you need all the help you can get after eating that entire tin of chocolate biscuits.)

3. To continually look on the Topshop/Dorothy Perkins/River Island website and add things to your basket before realizing you actually have no money in your account because you are just so goddamn generous.

4. To buy your Mum/Sister/Bestie a present you want knowing that they wont use it and that you’ll get to ‘borrow’ it afterwards and never give it back. It’s the thought that counts right?

5. To be completely consumed by festive deals. Three for two means ‘two gifts for you and one for me’ right?

6. To get fed up of your family by Boxing Day – especially if you don’t live at home. A release of aggression via shopping the Boxing Day sales (as if you are part of The Hunger Games) is optional.

7. To eat chocolate for breakfast and lunch on Christmas Day. Surely it’s best to eat all the chocolate now so that it isn’t left to tempt you when that inevitable diet starts on January 2nd (because you’ll likely be oh so hungover on January 1st).

8. To wear three pairs of Spanx under that skin-tight sequin party dress. It may be incredibly uncomfortable and after the first couple of drinks no one else will even notice but those photos for Facebook/Insta need to look hot okay?

9. To attempt to decorate a gingerbread house and fail, and then still post about it on Facebook with a caption telling everyone how talented your 5 year old sister/brother/niece/nephew etc. is. All you want to do is spread the festive cheer after all!

10. To sit in all day watching cheesy Christmas movies full of actors you have never heard of. Sometimes they can be absolutely amazing and it’s worth sitting through a few duds to find one that you can’t wait to watch year after year after year.

11. To put fairy lights on absolutely everything and have them on 24/7. Sure, you’re electricity bill won’t be happy but if you turn down the heating a couple of degrees you have an excuse to buy that super fluffy polar bear onesie.

12. If you are more interested in pigs in blankets than the three-bird roast. Sure, I love turkey but mini sausages wrapped in bacon? It’s just so right.

13. To wear your Christmas Jumper every other day until New Years Eve. You only ever get to wear it once a year so you might as well get your monies worth.

14. To have 1 (or too many) days where you do not leave the sofa other than to get another cup of tea or biscuit. We’ve been working hard all year and deserve a break!

15. To have an absolutely brilliant Christmas making a complete fool of yourself in front of family and friends. If you can’t be silly with them, who can you be silly with?

16. To go completely overboard with the decorations. Yes, my living room looks like Santa’s grotto/like Christmas threw up in it and didn’t bother to clean up the mess but it is Christmas and who can say no to £1 tinsel?

Happy Holidays to you all! I hope you have a fantastic end to the year. Have you got anything you think it is a-okay to do just because it’s Christmas? Let me know!
