BEAUTY // Elizabeth and James: Nirvana

Sunday, 28 December 2014

Season's greetings!
I'm one of those people who finds a perfume they like and rarely gets anything else. I like having a signature scent that I wear every day. It's just the finishing touch. Unfortunately, I ran out of my favourite Lacoste Touch of Pink whilst in Van and to get a bottle of that in Canada costs an absolute fortune! I decided, upon the suggestion of one of the lovely girls in Sephora, to try a perfume I could only get out there. I ended up settling on the Nirvana fragrances and I am in love.

For me, it was love at first smell. The white edition is a really light, crisp scent which is pretty unique. It smells very similar to a high-end perfume that Sephora sell but is 1/3 of the price. It wears really well, and for quite a long time, which is fab for me where perfumes tend to last about 2 hours before fading completely.

The black edition is much heavier but still is a suitable daytime perfume if you have the confidence to pull it off. It is darker, muskier and incredibly sexy. It has replaced my Valentino Rock & Rose Couture for the foreseeable future, that's for sure.

Due to the cost of perfumes in Canada being pretty darn ridiculous (the full size 90 ml was $90 and oil around $50) I ended up getting both rollerballs because I couldn't choose just one. If I had unlimited money I'd have gotten the gorgeous Christmas gift sets which included the perfume and oil for $75 but that's a lot of money to spend (although I really wish I had done it now!). If you have a chance to smell these perfumes definitely pop into your local Sephora. They are absolutely stunning with fantastic staying power. I doubt I'll be straying away from them any time soon.

Have you tried Nirvana? What are your thoughts? Let me know!

  3. I have about 5 perfumes on the go and alternate daily to whichever one I feel like wearing :) I love my coco mademoiselle by Chanel for evening wear, and tend to opt for Gucci Guilty or Viva la Juicy for the day time. Nirvana sounds so good though, would love to try them out!

    1. I wish I could do that! I really want to have a collection but I would spend an absolute fortune (and a lot of time finding them!). I really want to have a look at the Chanel fragrances though.
