OOTD // No diamonds in the trees, just leaves of gold*

Hello there!
Am I the only person in the world that sometimes has trouble finding dresses? Surely not! There is always that dress that has too small a waist or shoulders and it feels like it can be nearly impossible to find a nice dress that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and hours of wasted time in cramped fitting rooms. If you sweat about this as much as I do (which is quite a lot - I do like a nice dress), your saviour may come in the form of eShakti.

Dress: eShakti* (here)
Coat: Primark
Shoes: Topshop (old)

For me, the experience with eShakti was fantastic. They have a super large range from sizes 0-36 which, for the most part, is customizable! If you want a shorter/longer hem, they'll do it! You want sleeves on that top? They'll add them. Even better, for a small charge they'll make your garment to your measurements - what's not to love? There were so many bits and pieces that I fell in love with, it was incredibly hard to choose just one item!

I decided to go for the custom measurement option which was as easy as measuring myself at home and plugging it into their website - simple as! This dress, which is beautiful, super comfy and has pockets (yay!) is available in three lengths and I went for the mini. Sure it's not very short but it makes the dress very suitable for that family wedding or perhaps an evening at the theatre. I'm very tempted to take the hem up a little bit but it's such a flattering length, I may just leave it.

Overall, my experience with eShakti was brilliant. I got a gorgeous, good quality, dress custom made at what is a very brilliant price. I do keep having a look at their website and get ever so tempted to pick something else up. Their blouses are just gorgeous!

Can I just say, the weather in Vancouver is absolutely beautiful right now. It's cold and crisp and sunny and I just cannot get enough. It is making revising for finals very difficult right now.

Anyway, does dress shopping sound like your worst nightmare? Have you been looking into custom made clothing? Let me know!

  3. What a great idea. The main thing that keeps me from buying online is that it wont fit. But if its custom made! Very cool

    1. Thanks lovely! I was so surprised but it means I can do that awkward thing where I stand with my hands in my pockets and people look really confused because skirts don't generally have pockets..... but hell yes to the pockets!

      :)
