BEAUTY // Benefit First Class Flirts Travel Set

Wednesday 6 August 2014

Hello there!
It may be just me, but when sitting on a plane and there is a magazine showing discounts on high-end goods it is incredibly difficult not to buy something. I always pine over the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch concealer (that is still ridiculously expensive and I would not use). My Mum ended up picking up this set after becoming obsessed with primers (she got the Baby Skin primer and loves it!) and this set came with two so she had to buy it, obviously.

So here it is, the Benefit First Class Flirts Travel Set (and man isn't that a mouthful!)

This set is available exclusively on Monarch flights and retails at £16.50. It does come in lovely packaging but my mother doesn't understand my love of boxes and so threw it away before I could get my hands on it. It comes with 6 sample sizes of some of their best selling products costing just £2.75 each. I know right! How can you not buy it!?

This kit comes with two 7.5 mL primers: "That gal" and the Porefessional. I have tried the Porefessional before and was really surprised at how it reduced the appearance of pores. I'm quite looking forward to trying 'That Gal",  a brightening face primer which I have heard quite a lot of good things about. It has a bit of a shimmer with it that will hopefully create a not quite dewy, not quite matte look that'll look luminous and more natural.

A small pot of the Total Moisture Facial Cream is also included. The tub looks so sweet and is the perfect size to take on holiday. It'll last at least a two week holiday - and probably more.

I was quite surprised to see the Watt's Up! highlighter included but it looks adorable and is so luxe looking. It is a champagne hued highlighter with plenty of shimmer. I find it quite hard to apply without the blender that comes with the full size. It can look quite cakey and harsh if you don't blend properly but all that will be fixed with a make up sponge (when I pick one up!).

I have wanted to try Benetint for so long. It was the first Benefit product I have ever wanted to use (ever!) It is a gorgeous pink stain that looks gorgeous on my lips to give a 'my lips but better' look. I have tried using it on my cheeks but I do look a bit like a clown. If anyone has any tips feel free to let me know!

Lastly it comes with the Dandelion blusher which is a pale pink blush with a little bit of shimmer. It's really natural looking and builds quite easily so I don't quite look like a clown when I wear it. I don't often wear blusher because I cannot apply it well at all but at least this one is very natural and subtle so if I mess it up it isn't too noticeable.

So that's this lovely little kit. There are some products I have wanted to use for ages in it and I'm so happy I could get them for such a good price. If you are going on a Monarch flight any time soon I'd definitely consider picking it up. It's so lovely and would make a fab gift for a loved one!

Have you tried any of these products? Do you have any tips for using them? Let me know!

  2. This is such a great kit, get some great items for a good price. I've had a few benefit kits and liked almost all of the products. I treated myself to a full size professional and I'm pretty sure thats the only thing keeping my make up in place!

    1. Ah, The Porefessional is good. I don't like primers usually but I can deal with The Porefessional. It does work at least! I don't mind paying £3 for a sample - I really do think the make-up counters should start to do that (I wish!)

  3. £16.50 is amazing for a set of Benefit goodies - even if they're just sample sizes! Looks like a great way to try out quite a few of their products :)

  4. I love Benefit! Everything about them, I love it. I use their Hello Flawless foundation & They're Real mascara almost every day and have recently bought the Watt's Up highlighter to try and because I've had my eye on it for a long time. I will have to pick this kit up at some point, I bet it'll make a grand present.

    1. Ah, lovely! I haven't tried the Hello Flawless foundation but I have heard so much good stuff about it! You can only get it on Monarch flights unfortunately - you might be able to pick it up on eBay though. I wish I had bought another one.

  5. Such a lovely set, I love most of Benefit's products that I've tried. They rarely disappoint. The Porefessional primer is a lifesaver for my oily skin!

So funny about your mom throwing the box away haha! I have the same problem, never want to throw them away, especially ones that are colorful with beautiful designs ;)
