FASHION // WISHING I WAS JAMES BAY

Tuesday 19 July 2016

Hey there!
Last weekend I decided it was a fantastic day to go to London. The sun was shining, trains were running almost on time and I wanted to search for a specific dress in River Island (that didn't work out too well). Anyway, who better to spend time with on a Sunday than my chem bestie Sam and like the babe he is, he took some outfit photos for me! We strolled through the streets just off of Oxford St. and found some pretty houses that I could pose in front of and *hopefully* avoid strangers who would inevitably judge me.

So, short story: met up with Sam, acted like complete losers, got amazing pizza, shopped, took photos.

I originally got this hat about 2 months ago from H&M. I have been looking for a wool hat for about 2 years now and never found one which was 1. a reasonable price or 2. actually suited my massive face and double chin. Every time I would go shopping I'd put on another few hats and my housemate would go crazy and it was an unbreakable cycle. However, one fateful day this hat was sitting alone and priceless on a fixture. It looked great, fitted perfectly and only came up at £6 on the till after student discount. It was obviously meant to happen!

I have been buying absolutely everything in sight recently and it's not a good thing. My denim skirt was just £12 in the ASOS sale and dress/jacket just £22 from Dorothy Perkins. We cannot ignore the beautiful pointed leather pumps from the Topshop sale that somehow go with everything. Lastly, the look was finished off with my 15 inch Cambridge Satchel Company satchel. It's perfect for a day in London. I managed to fit a book, my DSLR, purse, phone and instax mini 8 in there. Crazy right?

I totally understand why James Bay wears hats like these. I mean, look how great they photograph from the back? Whenever I have it on I feel like I have moved up 3 chic levels - even if it's just with jeans and a jumper. It has got to be one of my favourite buys of the year.

Have you got a really fun hat that you love? Have you been shopping the sales? Let me know!

  1. You look so lovely and I adore the whole look, especially the bag! I'm not really a hat-wearer because they make me look like I have a pea head haha! x
