Hey there!
There's nothing better than a pretty desk to get you motivated to do some work - am I right? I have really tried to make the most of my desk this year. However, this is more easily said than done considering that blu-tack is not allowed in my house - #rentalpains. This meant the next best thing had to be buying the largest cork board I could find thanks to Rymans. A few hours later (imagine a movie-style montage) and my desk was complete!

As you can see, I have managed to pick up as many inspirational quotes as I could. These are from various places including Pinterest, TK Maxx, Paperchase and Marks and Spencer. My favourite, and so it takes centre place is the gold 'you got this' print which was one of 10 I got in a pack from TK Maxx. There were 3 different packs and I wanted them all but there are only so many inspirational prints you can have adorned on a wall (unfortunately!) Oh, and the frame was an absolute bargain at £1 from Tiger!

My photos were a variety of prints from Polargram and Boots  (who both do square prints!) with some jazzy Wilkinsons push pins. Some ribbon and Primark copper star lights later and the cork board was looking beautiful! Obviously my desk wasn't cluttered enough and so I added post it notes galore (because I'm a little obsessed) and a 65p mason jar for use as a pen pot.

Primark had some lovely candles for £1 each so they were picked up instantly. Finally, I just put a couple of fake flowers in my favourite wine bottles ever. Greek wine is surprisingly good and can have beautiful bottles. The geometric print meant that I may have taken more than 6 home #sorrynotsorry.

So that is how my desk is looking this year (whilst it's still tidy!). Sure, it's not exactly sophisticated or Pinterest-worthy but it was done cheaply and I'm happy with it! Rented student accommodation can be dodgy at best and so difficult to make it feel homey. However, it really is the little things like some photos, fancy cushions or bunting that can make what was horrifically clinical into something you cannot wait to get back to.

Have you spent time decorating your desk this year? What tips would you give to make the most of limited space? Let me know!

    1. Thanks lovely! One evening the manager of the hotel cottoned on and realized we bought the wine for the bottles and so gave my parents a couple more. They're just so pretty though!

  9. You say this isn't Pinterest-worthy but it so is. Would you mind if I pinned it to my DIY board? I've been planning to overhaul my corkboard for the longest time! Great post; I love seeing people's creativity, it's very inspiring :)

  11. Oh, what a beautiful desk! I have to take a few hours to reorganize mine, and add some photos of my friends. My corkboard is surprisingly empty. But that's because I'm too lazy to put anything on it hahaha <3
