BEAUTY // MAC girl about town

Wednesday 5 August 2015

Hello!
Is it just me, or when there is an offer on MAC lipsticks, it is impossible not to make a cheeky purchase. I had a voucher from Amber for MAC at Debenhams and, with the £5 off of two lipsticks thanks to my favourite holiday of the year (ahem National Lipstick Day), I got two lipsticks for the price of one. Can I just say HELL YES. I have not paid full price for a MAC lipstick yet and I will not in a hurry.

Anyway, the first beauty I picked up was Girl About Town. It is a very vibrant, blue toned pink that is super duper opaque. It's part of the Amplified range so isn't overly drying and applies like a dream. Unfortunately, as expected, the staying power of this shade isn't as good as the mattes but is still significantly better than your standard Rimmel lippy in a similar colour.

I personally haven't had an issue with it bleeding but do like to apply it with a lip brush to get a more precise line. It's fantastic in the summer with just mascara to give a put together look. I also cannot wait to wear it in the evenings with a more dramatic eye as we head into Autumn. It is definitely a summer colour but has been on my to-buy list for such a long time I just had to.

Have you got Girl About Town? How do you wear it? Let me know!

  4. I thought it was more on the pinky side, but it still looks amazing. I'm lusting after Ruby Woo, so I'll probably have a cheeky look at duty free on my way home from holidays! xx

    1. It is definitely pink! I have missed having one for so long! I got Russian Red instead of Ruby Woo because RW is so, so drying! It does stay put though apparently.

    1. Oh no! I saw lots of tweets about national lipstick day and thought YES ALL OF THE OFFERS. Debenhams offered £5 off each lipstick last year so it wasn't as good a deal this year but still a little bit of a discount.

  15. Girl About Town is on my hit list. The latest one I've bough it Good Kisser which is pretty similar but you can never have too many blue toned pinks :)

    1. They are so pricey - I just cannot see myself paying £16 for a lipstick! It means I cannot get them often but when I do it's that bit more special!

    1. It really is! It does last a good 4-5 hours for me even when drinking. It's not a bad lasting lipstick at all.
