BEAUTY // Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish

Friday 21 August 2015

Hello!

Recently I have really been interested in skincare. It's a summer thing generally. I'll actually moisturize and occasionally exfoliate and get 8 hours of sleep a night. However, this time round I have lasted a whole month of cleansing every day and I'm proud. I will not lie to you. The reason I have kept up with my new skincare routine is because of this cleanser. Yes, I know. That's a big statement but I can tell you that I am being 100% honest. I absolutely love this cleanser.

I am the ultimate lazy girl when it comes to beauty. I go to bed with wet hair and spend no more than 5 minutes on my make up in the morning (if I'm feeling generous. I am known to not put on foundation and just swipe on some mascara). Anyway, who can deal with a 20 minute cleansing routine when I cannot be bothered to put make up on in the first place? Not me.

This is where Cleanse and Polish comes in. It cleanses, gently exfoliates and polishes in two steps - not 6. I know, it's a lazy girl's dream. You squirt a pump of the cleanser, massage into your face and décolletage for a minute or so and then buff it off with a muslin cloth soaked in hot water. Voila! It's filled with plenty of natural good things including cocoa butter to help soften and eucalyptus to soothe.

Due to the muslin cloth, you are getting a nice gentle exfoliation on a daily basis. This was my prior downfall because I hated adding an exfoliation step. It's hard enough to get cleanser off your face - let alone exfoliators too. I only cleanse in the evening because, let's face it, your face doesn't get particularly dirty over night. I actually find my skin is in worse condition if I cleanse in the morning. Your body acts to balance pH levels in your face over night so why ruin that with 5 step cleansing routine? (Yes I'm lazy but that's science right there. Why try to fix something if it isn't broken?)

This cleanser is so easy to apply and remove. I'm not spending 10 minutes making sure that every ounce of chemical filled cleanser is removed from my face to avoid that horrible tight feeling that I often get from not removing cleanser properly. Even better, this cleanser smells amazing. It's so calming and soothing and sends me to sleep every night. I have days where I just cannot wait to take my make up off. Let me tell you - I have never felt that before.

The result is that my skin is a lot clearer, my red patches have gotten a lot smaller and dry patches are a thing of the past (for the most part). I follow up with my Elemis Apricot Toner and then moisturize (I'm currently using a mix of Kiehl's Skin Rescuer (review here) and a Balance Me Face Balm). It has made my skin look normal and not a weird mix of dry, oily and sensitive.

So, overall, I like this cleanser a lot. It has really helped my skin and made me feel a lot more confident. I sure won't be wearing foundation on the beach on my next holiday. I definitely want to try some other Liz Earle products. If this product works so well I bet their other products are just as good too.

Have you tried any Liz Earle products? What are your favourites? Let me know!

*I was not sent this product and all views are my own. I just really love this cleanser okay!

  2. Omg, I love this cleanser SO MUCH. I use it everyday, without fail, and I've never tried any other cleanser since I discovering the LE cleanse and polish. I agree, it is so easy to apply and remove! My skin is also a lot clear, smoother and more radiant!

    Love this review! :)

    1. It is so good! I really think it's the whole moisturize, cleanse and exfoliate in one step that I love. I don't know how any other cleanser can do that in one step!

    1. You should! If you get it from QVC it's slightly more expensive but you have 30 days to try it and if you don't like it get a full refund!

  4. Wow this sounds great! And I don't cleanse my face in the morning either, I find doing it too often dries my skin out. Great review! xx.

    1. I would 100% give it a go. You can try it for 30 days with QVC and send it back if you don't like it. That's why I ordered it (tbh) and it isn't getting sent back!
