LIFESTYLE // Scrapbook Update # 2

Monday 27 July 2015

Hey!
As I sit here typing I can say that my scrapbook is officially finished! There a few titles I need to write in and dates I need to confirm but other than that - IT IS COMPLETE. I am so proud of myself that I have actually finished this scrapbook. To be honest, I have never finished one in my life and it makes me think the money spent is completely worth it. I have taken photos of a few of my fave spreads and pages and will share them in probably one other post. Like I have said in earlier posts (e.g. here and here) I am no scrapbooking goddess. I am just a girl who spent a fortune on photos and fancy papers who wants to document her time with a little bit more personality than Facebook gives.

Anyway, let's go!

For my Hawaii pages I purchased some new papers from Hello Little Magpie with a multitude of Hawaiian-esque prints. I mixed them with a few of my Heidi Swapp papers (from TKMaxx but also available from HLM) and some super cheap papers from the range. If you didn't already know, I'm not fantastic at layouts. I honestly just stick photos and backgrounds where I like. I won't lie to you, the A5 size papers are my fave for an 8x8 scrapbook. They can give so many different looks!

Along with plenty of pretty papers, I also picked up a sampler of Project Life cards because I love actually journalling in my scrapbooks and they are a fab way to do so with some colour. Using just the cards I have found very simple ways to get nice layouts. Even if you don't do a PL scrapbook I would 100% recommend getting the cards - especially within a sampler pack. I think they cost me £4 for 50 cards!

As you can see, more Hawaiian papers and plenty of palm trees. The pink pineapple spread is one of my faves because that paper is just amazing (and it may or may not be my phone wallpaper right now). It's one of my simpler spreads but I love, love, love it.

Can you tell I love that floral paper? I used it all up but it is so pretty! I feel like my typography is improving a little bit and I'm getting a little more creative with my layouts although I want to add more and more layers to them. It took me so long to figure out that I can totally do asymmetric backgrounds and the first one actually occurred because I accidentally cut the paper wrong. Happy accident or what?

Well that was the second instalment of my scrapbook update! There will be one more post coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled!

Have you started a scrapbook recently? What are your favourite items to use? Let me know!

  1. This looks so good! Love the papers and the way you've done the photos. I'd never thought of using Project Life cards in a traditional scrapbook, so I'll definitely have to give that a go!

  2. I love the brown paper in your scrapbook - for some reason it gives everything a proper 'scrappy' feel! You've done amazingly - it's so great to look back on your layouts and smile at the memories and also at your creativity. Lovely post once again! :)

  7. I made one when I was in senior year! I actually like scrapbooking because it pours out the creativity in you and it's one way to keep memories! :) I did use a lot of floral backgrounds, cut colorful papers in geometric shapes, and even use glue gun as a design. Ahh, thinking about it makes me want to make another one! Hehe heez. Anyway yours are very lovely and I like that you write something on them.
