BEAUTY// NAKED 2 BASICS

Hello there!
I got the Naked 2 palette from the girls back home as a 21st Birthday present and 100% fell in love straight away. I love the shimmery shades but felt like I needed a few more matte shades for those days that I didn't want to shimmer like a disco ball. Obviously, the next move was to pop to my local Sephora and pick up the Basics 2 palette!

The Naked Basics 2 palette is made of 6 matte shades ranging from a very pale, almost translucent peach/pink (skimp) to a very dark and pigmented black/brown (undone). They all have the same taupe undertone of the Naked 2 palette so I find that the two palettes are super easy to combine.

All colours are incredibly pigmented, especially for matte shadows. I have had no luck with matte eyeshadows in the past and these ones have impressed me for sure. One point, they do give a lot of fallout. Every time I use the palette I just have to blow away the fallout otherwise it just looks horrific (in my opinion). It's a waste of product but pretty negligable and it does stay clean that way!

Do I use this palette as much as the original Naked 2? No - not at all. However, when I feel like a more matte look I do pick up this palette every time. The shadows are gorgeous colours, easy to work with (especially with the Urban Decay double-ended brush) and has fantastic staying power. I absolutely adore the size of this palette. It's less than half the size of the original palettes making it perfect for popping in your bag or taking travelling. I kind of do want the Basics 1 too  now though. I can see my little obsession with Urban Decay isn't going to end any time soon.

Have you tried any of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. What are your favourite combinations for the Basics 2? Let me know!

    1. I think handy is definitely the word. I'm pretty sure it fits in my jeans pocket (although that probably is not the place for an eyeshadow palette).

  2. I have both the Naked Basics 2 palette and also Naked 3 and both are everyday staples for me. I personally prefer matte shadows so Basics 2 is slightly more used also Frisk is a great colour for filling in my blonde brows - definitely worth the money!

    1. I didn't think about using Frisk for my brows - I might have to try it out. Frisk is my favourite shade in the palette for sure.

    1. They can look boring! It's tricky walking into an 8am lecture looking like Edward Cullen though (you know that glitter and shimmer goes everywhere)!

    1. I know what you mean. The normal ones are completely wearable for day to day but I just needed an excuse to buy another I think...

    1. It sure is perfect for travelling! If only Urban Decay did a travel sized dual-ended brush to go with it!

    1. It's fantastic isn't it? This one isn't so versatile but is perfect for travelling. If only they did the others in a travel size - they'd be amazing.
