TRAVEL // Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge

Monday, 5 January 2015

Hello there!
I have got a new mantra in which if I want to do something, I'm going to do it (within reason). No more putting it off, I'm just going to go out and do it. I know that sounds fantastic in theory, but going for a 2 hour hike (okay hour and a half) in North Van whilst being incredibly jet lagged possibly wasn't my most intelligent choice. I had been up since 5am and it was raining all day and now I feel positively awful! I'm currently in bed watching Miranda's 'What I call - Live' show feeling sorry for myself. What a good way to start 2015!

It may have been raining, so I couldn't get my DSLR out, but I cheekily took a few snaps on my iPhone which turned out pretty fabulously! I can't wait to head over again once the weather is a bit nicer (and I'm actually wearing hiking boots - rookie mistake).

Lynn Canyon has quite a few trails with plenty of beauty to be seen. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere (and in a Twilight film - where's Edward Cullen when you need him!?) There are waterfalls and pools, the suspension bridge and plenty other sights to go see. Even better, you don't have to pay to get in. I can say, I definitely got my monies worth!

I cannot wait to head down in the summer and jump into the pool from the cliffs and have a lovely afternoon with some friends. It is exactly how I imagined the first couple of chapters of Panic by Lauren Oliver to be (and you should go read that book asap - it's incredible!)

Have you been to Lynn Canyon before? Let me know!

    1. I can imagine! Apparently people like to slide down the rocks into one of the pools but I wouldn't do that! I'd love to live a bit closer (I'm like 2 hours away!)
