TRAVEL // Tenerife pt. 1

Monday 28 July 2014

Hi guys!
As you may (or may not) know, I just spent the past week in Tenerife. It was a super lovely week full of beach lazing and excursions and I just wanted to upload a few snaps from the week. Well, I say a few. There are so many I'll upload them in a couple of parts. Tenerife is such a lovely country and there is so much to do that one week was definitely not enough time. If I could go again tomorrow I would!

Early on we went to Jungle Park which is an animal park with shows throughout the day and lots of animals around for you to see. It's so lush and green there with plenty of shade and is just a fantastic place. It wasn't too pricey at €25 but was quite a small park explaining why it was quite a bit cheaper than Loro Parque. Still, it was a really lovely day and I couldn't stop taking photos!

I did spend quite a lot of time at the seafront and found some really lovely cafes and bars on the way. I wanted frozen yoghurt from Smooy so much but never actually got around to it. I need to go back just to do that I think (and get nutella ice cream - I never got that either!) Oh, and it seems like commonplace that table decoration is a pot of grass. I now want a pot of grass for my room.

Half way through we also went on a boat trip! It was pretty much a private yacht with ten people on it and we went for a little trip around the coast. We saw dolphins and whales and went swimming in Turtle cove and it was lovely. It was so surreal sipping a glass of champagne and sunbathing on the front of the boat listing to Jimi Hendrix and Queen. I actually felt a little bit like a VIP on my yacht. I got some horrific tan lines and incredibly burnt legs on that boat though. Not everything can be perfect!

Overall, it was a really lovely week! So much sangria was consumed and if you get a chance to try champagne sangria do it! It is so, so so lovely and I want some right now thinking about it.

Have you been to Tenerife or want to? Let me know!

  1. I absolutely love Tenerife. Heading back again in a few weeks time after falling in love last summer :) What part did you go to? & what did you do that you would recommend? I went last year and done Siam Park & Loro Parque, but would like something new to do :)

Looks like you had a fantastic time and your photo's are amazing!!!

    1. Ah, lucky you! I was in Los Christianos in the hills but it was only a 15 minute walk to the beach. Where are you staying?
I ended up doing some stand-up paddle boarding which was so much fun! I would also recommend doing a tour of the island if you haven't done one already. I did the Teide, Icod and Masca one which was brilliant (although sitting on a coach with the hairpin bends isn't always fun!). Definitely don't do the Medieval night though - It was nice but too expensive and not worth it (in my opinion - although I didn't particularly want to go anyway haha).

      Hope that helps!
