FASHION // The Cambridge Satchel Company

Monday 6 July 2015

Hello!
Today I am presenting an item of which I have been pining after for a good 3 years or so. In fact, my want of one of these bags just increased when the Oxblood colour was released and I just knew I had to have one. Yes, that's right. I finally treated myself to a Cambridge Satchel Company satchel and I could not be happier! I have wanted one for so long and with their summer sale bringing the embossed bag down to under £100, I just could not say no!

I popped into London with my friend Chris, who took my photos for my latest OOTD post here, and we went straight to Covent Garden with Starbucks in hand. Eventually we found the store, I found the bag, told them the embossing and paid. I may have almost cried when the £93 came out of my account but I knew in 30-45 minutes that bag would be mine and it would have my initials printed beautifully in gold.

I have the 15 inch classic in Oxblood which is rather large. It just about fits my MacBook Pro (15 inch from 2010) without a case and apparently the bags to give a little bit when they soften with time.  I was toying with the Batchel for a moment or so but wanted the bit of extra height for my laptop. It is really spacious and holds my DSLR easily (again without a case) so will be fabulous for Sightseeing where I really do not want to carry two bags.

Overall, I absolutely love my bag and I know I made the right choice. All of the staff in store were really helpful and quickly got me over my indecision (what size? Silver or gold embossing?) Now I just need a new purse to go with it. Anyone want to point me in the right direction?

Have you got a Cambridge Satchel Company Satchel? What's it like? Let me know!

  1. It's so gorgeous! I wouldn't be able to spend that amount purely because I'm a stingy old cow. I mean, I tried to find a Fjallraven Kanken for the cheapest price I could find, which was around £30-40 I think? And even that was bought after umming and ahhhing about it for a good day or so!! Hahaha

It's a stunning colour though, and I love the embossing. It's a beautiful bag!!

    1. Isn't it just? It's all priorities for me. I have wanted it for years, it was on sale and it will last a seriously long time! I spend so much money on bags, purses and shoes it's ridiculous (but really skimp on my actual clothing. something's going to give right?)

  4. Wow this is a beautiful bag! I didn't expect it would be that big that it would fits with a MacBook 15 inch (at least on the pictures it looks quite small) but love it! Nice color!

    1. It was smaller than I thought it would be but you can't fit a case with it! I have only ever seen it on my size 6/8 friend so it looks massive on her but doesn't look as large on me (or in the pictures for that matter).

  16. I love these! I have a dark green one that I won from Urban Outfitters a couple of years ago that's a smaller size than this. It's ideal for when I want to give my shoulders a break and take a lighter bag out with me!
