TRAVEL // Corfu Travel Diary Pt. 2

Thursday, 17 September 2015

Hello!
Today I'm sharing with you a few more snaps from my trip to Corfu at the end of August. We decided to do an island tour excursion (The Grand Island Tour as it goes. The company we chose was completely unorganized and it was just a downer but it did show us some beauty - that's for sure). The tour took us to the Achilleion Palace to see plenty of beautiful art and gardens. If I could live in that building I could. With views for miles and plenty of history, it's definitely worth a see.

Whilst the Palace was beautiful, the views were even more so. I'm not entirely sure if all of these are from this area or the Monastery on the other end of the island but, believe me, it doesn't really matter once you see the photos.

Although we were meant to see another 3 or so places, the only other area we really got to explore was Paleokastritsa. For me, it was paradise. With aquamarine seas, multiple small coves and caves galore, I refused to not come back. It's such a beautiful area that is relaxing with plenty to do. If I ever went back to Corfu, Paleokastritsa would be the area I'd stay in.

I have many more photos from Paleokastritsa but I want to save those for another post coming up soon. I hope you can just appreciate how blue the water is and how much fun it would be to explore all of the coves. I'd definitely take a GoPro and some swim shoes though - the rocks are everywhere. I explored it from a boat which cost 8 Euros for about 30 minutes. It's not the worst price, or the best, but got closer to the caves than I expected. We saw lots of fish and brighter blue waters. It really is a beautiful area.

So that's the second installment to my Corfu travel diary. Is Corfu somewhere you'd like to go? Let me know!
