How have I been back from North America for 3 weeks now? I'm already at the point of boredom where I am voluntarily doing organic chemistry. Let's just say that this isn't good. After Montreal I headed over to Vegas for 4 days. We stayed in Circus Circus the week of Rock In Rio so, as you can expect, it was super busy! The rooms were comfortable and had Jimmy Fallon on TV every night so I was happy. Sure, it's right at the end of the main strip but it was such a bargain I didn't really mind.
So first off we head to the hotel at 10pm at night and go on search for any food we can find. That, of course turned out to be McDonalds and we headed to bed ready for an early day. The next morning we headed out super early, had a tasty but ever so fattening breakfast in Denny's, before heading down the strip.
On the first day we headed towards the MGM in order to get tickets for KA that evening. They had a deal where you can buy one ticket at full price and get the second for $10. Of course we had to take advantage of that and so we got two top price tickets for just (haha!) $200. The show was incredible and was completely worth the money in my opinion. Of course, others may find that they'd rather spend $100 on a new handbag and that's okay!
The first hotel we actually popped into was The Venetian and it was absolutely stunning. I felt like I had walked into a Roman palace and never wanted to leave (especially the casino - crystal everywhere!). We ambled up the strip further, popping into casinos as we pleased until we hit Caesar's Palace. Sure, we got swept up in a timeshare sell but we also got 2 free tickets to The Vegas Show, a $70 dinner each, $25 to spend in the slots each and a free ride to the MGM Grand (which was seriously forever away). That saved some money for sure!
Like I said, KA was amazing and I'd definitely pay to see another Cirque show. I had no idea what was going on, but still knew what was going on (kind of). The next day he headed to the Grand Canyon (coming up next - keep an eye out!) so our second day meant an early wake and even earlier bed time. I was in bed my 7pm - how sad is that when you are in Vegas?! However, with my sunglasses, a resting bitch face, vintage tee and coffee, I did get mistaken for someone involved with Rock In Rio. If only I had taken the directions I was given, who knows who I'd have met!
I'm not going to lie to you, I had a go on the slots. I'm about 99% sure I didn't lose any money but I don't think I made much either. If you are in the casinos you can get free drinks (well, you have to tip) but in order to actually achieve that you end up spending more in slots than your drink is worth. I'd rather just pay $7 for the cocktail I think.
A must see is the fountain show outside the Bellagio. I'm pretty sure they have a few that they rotate but it's crazy how much water they shoot into the air. The volcano show down at The Mirage is actually a lot more impressive (sorry Bellagio!) because come on, who doesn't love a volcano!
On our last evening, after wandering the Strip all day and seeing The Vegas Show, we braved public transport and went to The Fremont Experience. I have never seen so many lights in my life. The place was filled with tacky souvenir shops and the most amazing light show on the ceiling. Unfortunately, we had to head back and pack before jetting off to San Fran! Sure, an extra day in Vegas would have been lovely but I think I've done enough.
Have you been to Las Vegas? What did you think? Let me know!

Thank you! I wasn't too bothered about Vegas myself but my sister seriously wanted to go. It's not a bad place to go at all but I wouldn't again in a hurry (if I was paying for it myself that is!)

Vegas sounds so dreamy! I'd love to visit there. I'd love to give the slot machines a go, I saw someone on my Instagram not long ago win a hell of a lot on one... and bought MAC products haha. Looking forward to seeing your post on the grand canyon - I seriously want to go there! :)

Thanks lovely! It definitely costs a fortune (On my 3 week trip I spent about $2,000 total and I was on a super strict budget).

I do think it's somewhere you have to go at some point. It's the sort of place that you can visit no matter how old you are (okay not particularly a child) though which is fantastic!

Thank you! I'm sure you will! It's quite easy to do Vegas on a budget if you have to. 3/4 nights I stayed, my hotel was just $34 a night!
