LOVE // The Liebster Award!

Saturday, 26 July 2014

Hello my lovelies! I have just come back off holiday to find I had been nominated for the Liebster award by two lovely people! I think this tag is so lovely and has helped me find new blogs in the past for sure. It is a fantastic way to get blogs noticed and introduced to new readers and I really, really appreciate getting tagged in this one (especially as it is the first time I have been tagged in anything ever!). So here's a mega thanks to Natalie Ann at Petal Poppet Blogs and Katie at Little Katie's Little thoughts for nominating me - go check out their blogs which are both brilliant!

Rules:

1. Post eleven facts about yourself.

2. Answer the eleven questions provided by the person who nominated you and then create an eleven-question set for the next group of nominees.

3. Choose eleven people to nominate and link them in the post.

4. Let your nominees know they've been tagged - and no tag-backs!

5. Nominate blogs under 200 followers.

11 facts about me

1. I’m moving to Canada in one month to spend the third year of my degree at UBC in Vancouver.

2.  I love cats and have done ever since I was a kid. If I could be a cat I probably would be.

3. I used to play the clarinet but play the guitar more so now. It means I can sing Taylor Swift at the top of my lungs to my cat (whilst baking heart shaped cookies on Valentines Day).

4. I used to want to be a lawyer after watching Legally Blonde. Who doesn’t want to be Elle Woods?

5. If I do something, I do it properly. I never do anything by halves (shown by the fact I’m moving out of home and going half way across the world?)

6. I’ve done quite a bit of stand up comedy including quite a large show in London. Why wouldn’t I want to tell people about my life whilst on a stage?

7.  I really, really, really want to work at my local TGI Fridays.

8.  I can sing the entirety of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen on my own from start to finish.

9. I’m a perfectionist. If I do something, I want to do it right first time (unfortunately!)

10.  I have recently learned to knit and made a tiny scarf.

11.  I would absolutely love to work in cosmetics development. I want to help create a product that people around the world are raving over.

Here is the first set of questions from Natalie Ann:

1.     What is your favourite season and why?
I love Autumn. It means I get to layer and wear light jackets and riding boots and scarves but I’m still not bundled up in 5 scarves. Autumn as a season is so beautiful too – I just love running over crunchy leaves.

2.      If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?
Ah, this is such a tricky question! I always feel like I should wish for world peace and stopping the extinction of pandas. To be honest, I’d really wish to get a fantastic job I love after university, have an absolutely amazing wardrobe and to just be successful in everything I do. I sure hope this isn’t the only chance I have to pick three wishes. I don’t feel like these are important enough!

3.     Why did you start blogging?
I think there are two reasons I started blogging. Firstly, I love to document absolutely everything I do. Blogging is like a digital scrapbook for me (although this blog doesn’t seem like it yet!) Secondly, I hate wasting money. Whether it is on a lipstick that doesn’t suit me or a book that is just awful, I always look things up before I buy them and was always looking at blogger opinions. This just inspired me to upload my views too. I want to know the ins and outs of a product and I cannot be the only one so I thought I would give my view too. At the end of the day, every little helps!

4.     Which bloggers are you currently loving?

5.     What is one interesting fact about yourself?
If I ever do an Edinburgh Fringe show it’ll be called ‘Tagg – You’re it!’ (my last name is Broomfield-Tagg)

6.     If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I have already travelled quite a lot and I loved Australia and would love to go again. I absolutely love Melbourne and it would be fantastic to do some more travelling around. I really want to visit more states in America too – I have only been to Florida, California and Vegas!

7.     What is the one thing you cannot live without?
Definitely my iPhone. It has my books and music on it and I am always getting lost and cannot read a map to save my life. I could not even imagine not having my iPhone. It’s always there when I need it (which is way too often!)

8.     What is your favourite movie?
I’m stuck between Pride and Prejudice, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and A Cinderella Story. I just cannot choose!

9.     What is your favourite song?
My favourite song is always changing! One song I can never get sick of is Letters From The Sky by Civil Twilight. They supported Anberlin when I saw them in Florida and they are amazing and probably my favourite band ever. Both of their albums are amazing and you should check them out asap!

10.  Describe yourself in one word.
I’m going to be positive and go with sassy (it was my new years resolution to be more sassy this year)

11. What is your favourite childhood memory?
I think it would have to be going to The Science Museum in London with my Dad. He worked (well still works) very long hours and two or three times in a year he would take me to London and do some sightseeing. We would go on the top deck of a bus and sit travel about and then get on the tube to the Science Museum (which is my favourite place ever and I haven’t been in years!). I guess looking back it is no surprise I’ve ended up studying science at uni!

Here is the second set of questions from Katie:

1.   Why did you decide to blog?
Like I said earlier, I like to document my life and I always want loads of opinions before I buy something (even if it costs £1.99!). I just wanted to put my view out there in case it helped someone as much as others have helped me.

2.    How long have you been using your blog?
I have only had this blog for 3 weeks but I had another blog that I had for around 2 years. I really wanted a fresh start when I found out I was moving to Canada so that’s what I did. I’m really, really appreciative of everyone who has followed me considering I haven’t been posting for very long!

3.   What is your dream job?
I’d love to go into cosmetics development (assuming that I don’t become an actress or author or something much more glamorous haha!)

4.   What is your favourite clothes shop?
That is a tricky one. I wouldn’t say I have a favourite shop but pick up bits and pieces from everywhere. I’m loving H&M and Dorothy Perkins at the moment but you can’t forget Topshop and Primark for essentials and statement pieces. Oh and ASOS – I love ASOS.

5.   Coffee or tea?
Coffee every time. I look like Medusa if I don’t have my skinny vanilla latte before my 9am lectures. It is so rare that I drink tea and if I do it’ll have 4 sugars in it!

6.   What is your dream destination?
Other than Australia or America I’d quite like to go to the Maldives. It looks so beautiful there!

7.   What is your favourite film? Top 3?
Pride and Prejudice, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and A Cinderella Story!

8.   Who is your favourite actor?
I'm going to take that as actress and  think it’s either Jen Lawrence or Emma Stone. I cannot decide – I love them both! Actor specifically would be James McAvoy right now.

9.   Skirts or shorts?
Skirts 100%. There is so much more variety when it comes to skirts and they don’t have to be uber feminine.

10.  How would you describe your dress sense?
All over the place! I wear what I want depending on my mood entirely. If I want to wear my Tommy Hilfiger oxford shirt with a skirt and loafers, I will. If I want to wear my docs, jeans and a checked shirt I will do that too. I would say I swap about between prep and grungy the most (especially because I’m in the lab up to 3 times a week and it would be stupid to wear expensive blouses then!).

11. What 5 things do you have on your bucket list?
Do an American road trip (hopefully next summer!), go scuba diving, work in a bar (don’t ask why!), design a dress and get it made my a dressmaker and go to the ballet.

My questions

1.     If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
2.     Would you rather live in one place for the rest of your life to have to move somewhere different every year?
3.     Who would be included in your ultimate festival line up?
4.     Where is your favourite place to go in your hometown?
5.     Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
6.     What do you prefer: TV box sets or movies?
7.     What is the best gift you have ever given and why?
8.     What is your favourite book?
9.     What is your favourite shop?
10. Where do you get your inspiration for your blog?
11. What beauty product can you not live without?

  5. Cats are wonderful investments (so are guitars for that matter). Tay Swift songs are just so easy to play and easy to screech out loud. I have spent many an afternoon pretending I'm a country singer haha!

    1. No problem my lovely!
I didn't pick A level law due to the fact I knew I couldn't get into Harvard with a predicted C in Chemistry and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else haha! Not gonna lie, I do dress like Elle Woods for my lectures (which is hilarious at 9am). I doubt I'd be a good lawyer though. I'd forget the right terminology and just sing/rap at people I think. I'm not sure it would work....
