Lifestyle // Vancouver Bucket List

Friday, 5 September 2014

Hi there - can you believe it's already Friday!?
I am freaking out because this means I only have two days before my first lab session and the constant 2 lab reports a week (on top of other quizzes, problem sets, mid-terms and finals. I don't even understand how this happened).

Anyway, I have been thinking and decided to do a bucket list for my time here in Vancouver. I very much doubt I'll get anything done unless I write it down - I'm so forgetful!

Keep an eye on this post. I'll be updating it when I come up with new ideas or to cross something off of the list. Well, that's the idea anyway! With this much work I'm not sure anything will ever get ticked off!

1. Buy something from Sephora
2. Pass every module!
3. Watch a sunset at Wreck Beach.
4. Do a radio show at CiTR.
5. Take photos for an issue of Discorder.
6. Take a trip to Seattle.
7. Go to Nando's (there is one downtown - I'm in awe!)
8. Get 90% in a test/lab report  (as of 30.9.14 - and in physical chemistry somehow?!)
9. Have a BBQ.
10. Go to The Pit.
11. Go to IKEA and pretend the rooms are rooms of my house.
12. Go thrift shopping.
13. Go to a Homecoming game (here)
14. Watch the sun rise at Wreck Beach.
15. See a gig in Downtown Vancouver.
16. Get a UBC hoodie.(or 2)
17. Have a house party (shut down by the RAs)
18. Go to a chemistry event
19. Fail a mid term
20. Do amazingly in a midterm with very little revision
21. Go to Whistler
22. Go to the Aquarium
23. Use my Scene points and see a free film (come on - it's free!
24. Go to Granville Island
25. Do an open mic night/karaoke (Uptown Funk as the song is optional)

UPDATE: Well I didn't do too badly did I? In the end I went to Hawaii instead of Whistler (good choice), focused too much on studying and found out Ikea was too far away. It's better than nothing eh?

  1. That sunset looks absolutely amazing! I don't know why but it seems so hard to believe there's a Nando's there! Haha.

    1. It was gorgeous!
I haven't seen it myself but one of my friends did and none of my housemates have ever been so I am organising a group Nando's trip. Excited doesn't even cover it.

  3. There is so much to do and just not enough time with studying! I'm trying to do as much as I can (but not climb a mountain - I'm not that crazy!)

    1. I love it there. I get so excited every time I go even though I rarely buy anything. I wouldn't mind a few of their cushions right now.

  5. I'm so glad you're enjoying vancouver so far, I'm loving reading about settling into the west coast from the perspective of someone who's not from here! It's pretty exciting, haha :)

    1. It must be quite strange! I guess it's the same for me and London haha!
I wish I could go and and do more stuff but school work has already gotten in the way and I have only had my first full week. I didn't think it would be that bad haha!

    1. It's so nice to tick things off of them! I have some ridiculous things on mine right now but I will find more things to add. You should definitely do your own list!

    1. Yes, definitely!
I'm (hopefully!) going to Homecoming tomorrow so that's something to cross off the list!

    1. It's crazy - I still don't believe it (and it has been two weeks?)
The sunset may be incredible but we never see any stars - gotta love city life!
