Hello!
If you didn't know, it was my birthday last week! I'm now the ripe old age of 22 I and use that as an excuse to sing Taylor Swift lyrics at every convenience. In what was a very busy day, I ended up popping to London for a few hours with my friend Chris on Saturday. It poured down with rain pretty much the entire time but my excitement over my new 50 mm lens got the better of me and I couldn't help but take photos of everything. Sorry not sorry.
So, it was the 14th of November and Christmas was absolutely everywhere. Covent Garden had giant mistletoe hanging from the ceilings and a giant tree, both of which looked absolutely gorgeous. There was a guy selling mulled wine and, of course, Costa had their christmas menu. The salted caramel cappuccino is pretty darn good - I won't lie.
Chris and I ended up wandering down to the London Eye and Trafalgar Square to get away from the hustle and bustle of the market. I cannot say I was surprised to see everything coloured red, white and blue, but it was definitely lovely to see. I think it's so important for us to show solidarity and share love rather than throwing blame about (although that's another post in itself and I'm not going into that).
Overall, I had forgotten how much I loved London at night. Although it's still far too early for lights, in my opinion, you've got to admit they look lovely! I can see myself taking crazy amounts of photos now I have my new lens - I'm just a little bit in love!
Have you been to London recently? Do you think it's too early for Christmas lights (considering they've been up a good 2-3 weeks now!) Let me know!
Loving the 50mm lens!! Great pictures.

I do think it's too early for Xmas lights yes! But I am a bit of a scrooge haha. Even I can't deny how lovely they look though. As always, I love your photos; looks like you're enjoying your new lens!

So early! I think if they started to appear now I'd be fine but they've been up for a good 2-3 weeks! They are beautiful though!

Happy belated birthday! Lovely photos. I love how cities look in the evening at Christmas, though I'm really not a London fan. Edinburgh is absolutely beautiful at Christmas, well worth a trip if you ever have the chance.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been quite touching to see people showing solidarity in London.
I don't mind Christmas lights being up already, they don't really both me. However, I am sick to the back teeth of Christmas TV adverts though.
Thank you! I haven't been able to see Edinburgh at Christmas but I bet it is lovely. I fortunately don't have a TV so don't watch the adverts. Sainsbury's advert is absolutely adorable this year though!

These must be the most beautiful London pictures I've ever seen on a blog! I LOVE the lights!
